Our Beliefs

The churches of Christ strive to model the first century church that is exemplified in the book of Acts.

We believe that the bible is the living word of God and is His inspired word (Rom. 10:17; 1 Cor. 2:10-13; 2 Tim. 3:16-17). We believe there is only one true God the Father and creator of all things (Gen. 1:1; Isa. 43:10; Jn. 17:3). Jesus Christ is the only begotten son of God and came to earth as a perfect example for us (Matt. 16:16; Jn. 1:1-3, 14, 17; 3:16; 14:6;; Phil. 2:5-11). It is only through Christ Jesus that we have the means to be saved (Ac. 4:10-12; Rom 6:1-14; Gal 3:26-29).

We want to be a church that is focused on Jesus our Savior; people who really do love the Lord with all their heart, soul, mind, and strength as Jesus taught was the greatest command (Mark 12:30). We want to be a church who loves its neighbors as itself as Jesus taught was the second greatest command (Mark 12:31). We want to be a church whose members imitate God (Ephesians 5:1). We recognize we are not perfect through our own efforts, but with the Lord’s help and direction from His word we can grow to be like Him.

There are a few things that we would like you to know about our service for when you visit. As a church that follows the examples of the book of Acts, we meet on the first day of each week (Sunday). We also partake in the Lord’s Supper or Communion each week as well. This consists of baptized believers eating the bread which represents Christ’s body and drinking the cup which represents Christ’s blood. We also use this time, while only by convenience, to take up an offering for the church. This is not an expectation for anyone and you are welcome to just pass the trays along without feeling uncomfortable. Our congregational singing is truly special in that it is a capella (unaccompanied by musical instruments allowing for all the parts to be heard). We feel this follows scripture and provides a simple, but pure worship (Acts 16:25; Eph 5:19)

We hope and pray that you will come and worship with us soon.
